How much does it cost to ship a vehicle?+

Every quote is customized based on your specific shipment. Pricing depends on factors such as transport distance, vehicle size and type, transport method (open or enclosed), pickup and delivery locations, and current carrier availability. Request a free quote for your personalized rate.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?+

Yes. Every shipment is fully covered by our commercial cargo insurance from the moment we take possession until final delivery.

How long does shipping take?+

Delivery time depends on several factors, including the transport distance, pickup and delivery locations, weather conditions, road conditions, traffic, and carrier scheduling. We always do our best to deliver every vehicle as quickly and efficiently as possible.

What's the difference between open and enclosed transport?+

Open transport is the industry standard — your vehicle ships on a multi-car open carrier, exposed to weather. Enclosed transport ships your vehicle inside a fully enclosed trailer, protecting it from weather, road debris, and prying eyes. Enclosed is recommended for luxury, exotic, and classic vehicles.

Do you offer door-to-door pickup?+

Yes. We pick up and deliver as close to your specified addresses as legally and safely possible. In some cases (narrow streets, low-clearance neighborhoods, HOA restrictions) we'll meet you at a nearby commercial location.

How do I prepare my vehicle for transport?+

Wash the vehicle for an accurate pre-transport inspection, remove all personal items, keep the fuel tank at about ¼ full, disable any alarms, document existing damage with photos, and provide one set of keys to the driver.

Can I ship a non-running vehicle?+

Yes, but it requires a carrier with a winch. Let us know during booking and we'll arrange the right equipment. Non-running shipments may carry a modest surcharge.

Will my vehicle be inspected before pickup?+

Yes. Our driver performs a detailed inspection with photos at both pickup and delivery, documenting your vehicle's condition on a bill of lading that you sign at both ends.

Do you ship to all 50 states?+

Stein Auto Transport provides vehicle shipping throughout the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states) only.

When do I pay?+

A small deposit may be due at booking. The remaining balance is typically paid to the driver at delivery via cash, certified check, or pre-arranged electronic payment.

Can I track my vehicle during transport?+

Absolutely. Your dedicated specialist provides real-time updates throughout transit, and you can call your assigned driver directly.

What happens if there's a delay?+

Weather, traffic, mechanical issues, and route changes can occasionally affect timing. We communicate any delays immediately so you're never left wondering.
